Hitchhiking the English Way

In my opinion, there wasn't much the British had contributed to this world. The best things to ever come out of that big island was the english language (which is part latin, nordic, wales, irish, scotish, and france,) the spitfire, and the beatles (the spitfire was not a band, mind you, it was a single engined, propeler driven fighter plane from world war two.)
Well now something else good has come out of that island. A movie titled Hitchhikers Guide to the Galaxy!
Why is it so good? Well for once, it beats the mad cow disease, imperialism, and tea time for it's entertaintmen value. It's hillarious and witty, unbelieveable story line punctuated by strange twist and some wonderfuly punch line.

The story, strangely enough, don't tell much about the galaxy or how to hitchhike. It's about an Englishman who was robed out of his home, his planet, with out proper tea, and travelling across the universe in his pajamas. Along the way he was accompanied by an alien who just love towels, another alien with two head, his true love who is also the only other human being to survive the destruction of earth and a chronically depressed robot named Marvin.
If that's not bad enough, he's chased by an entire race of beurucratic aliens and manipulated by mice!
So sit back, take a trip down the galaxy and enjoy one of the funniest movie ever produced by britain!

To Charge or not to charge...

really..., that is my question. It's not some Shakespeare spin-off, he's been quoted on too many time already...
I'm thinking about getting a credit card, but I'm not sure. I know I need it..., but then I don't think I'm making enough money and I'm not planning to spend hard on anything anytime soon. Why would I need it?
I know it would become handy in emergency situation. But will I be able to keep my self from getting trap in consumerism?
What do you think guys...??? You think I shoud get a credit card or not?

Dr Jeckyll and Mr. who...???

This morning just before I left for work, I caught a glimpse of Dr. Jeckyll and Mr. Hyde on the HBO. It set me thinking (it also made me late to pick up cup-cake) that what a silly notion that story is.
We don't need no potion to change from one personality to the next.
Hell, we do it every day and night with so much ease that we often forgot which one is which...
We always change personality when we are at home, at the office, with a stranger, lover, love ones, with our boss, our employee, our friends, a hot babe, a hunk, the police, our parents, in-laws...
I even change personality everytime I hit the shower! When I'm in the shower, I'm a rocker performing with a band. I sing out loud and even throw a stage dive or two.
The truth is, in this wicked world we live in, we need a pair of Jeckyll and Hyde or two to make it trough. At least that's how I fell...
But then how bout honesty and being true?
For me the trick is to fully understand which personality is the real you..., and pick a select few humans to whom you can be true. Meet them on a regular basis and when you do, make sure it's the real you, not another jeckyll or hyde...
Then maybe..., we'd be able to keep a slice of sanity

In Memoriam

Selamat jalan kawan...

Kini sekali lagi engkau melangkah mendahului kami
seperti dulu
ketika bersama menapaki Gede dan Pangrangro
menyiapkan jalan setapak

Doa ku beserta mu kawan...
dan kenanganmu akan selalu ada di hatiku

terima kasih atas segalanya...
dan maafkan aku tak dapat menemanimu dalam perjalanan terakhirmu
ketempat peristirahatanmu

Reinventing yourself, again...

I've just remember how I was inspired to write the previous post titled "Reinventing yourself." I got the idea after watching eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, a movie starring Jim Carrey.
The story itself revolve around a guy who tried to forget about his girlfriend after falling out of a relationship. To do it, he went to a special doctor who uses a machine to erase memories from people's brain. The whole process was done when the person is a sleep or put to sleep. The result was that the person will completely forget the selected memories without knowing it and it's irreversable. Much like erasing a file from a computer.
The problem was the character played by Jim Carrey found himself awake inside his memory with his girlfriend, the part of memory that he wanted to delete. As he re-live it, he realize that the memories was such fun that he decided he wanted to keep them after all. And so, as the doctor and his assitants tries to erase it, our hero runs around his brain trying to save the memory of his girlfriend, or at least part of the memory.
What does that got to do with reinventing yourself? Well..., I think to erase our memory, no matter how scant or bad or frightening or humiliating, is to lose our self. As a person, you will be undone. As a human being you will be gone.
That's something I know, I wouldn't wanna happen. 'Cause at least, with my memory intact, I know what I should or shouldn't have done.
How bout you? Need something deleted?
