Reinventing yourself, again...

I've just remember how I was inspired to write the previous post titled "Reinventing yourself." I got the idea after watching eternal sunshine of a spotless mind, a movie starring Jim Carrey.
The story itself revolve around a guy who tried to forget about his girlfriend after falling out of a relationship. To do it, he went to a special doctor who uses a machine to erase memories from people's brain. The whole process was done when the person is a sleep or put to sleep. The result was that the person will completely forget the selected memories without knowing it and it's irreversable. Much like erasing a file from a computer.
The problem was the character played by Jim Carrey found himself awake inside his memory with his girlfriend, the part of memory that he wanted to delete. As he re-live it, he realize that the memories was such fun that he decided he wanted to keep them after all. And so, as the doctor and his assitants tries to erase it, our hero runs around his brain trying to save the memory of his girlfriend, or at least part of the memory.
What does that got to do with reinventing yourself? Well..., I think to erase our memory, no matter how scant or bad or frightening or humiliating, is to lose our self. As a person, you will be undone. As a human being you will be gone.
That's something I know, I wouldn't wanna happen. 'Cause at least, with my memory intact, I know what I should or shouldn't have done.
How bout you? Need something deleted?
